Story Revised
October 14, 2009Rumur is a little brown dragon-tadpole-chameleon hybrid. He is the result of a failed genetic experiment in which the scientists were trying to create a super-powered animal to use as a death machine. When they created Rumur, they assumed he would grow into their desired beast, but when he stopped growing at six and a quarter inches, they threw him outside.
Rumur now lives in a little cave in a forest near a suburban neighborhood. He eats insects, small rodents, leaves and grass. Because he is part dragon, he loves collecting gold, treasure and anything that’s metallic and shiny. He has a small collection of gold coins and jewelry in his cave, but not nearly enough in his opinion. Every chance he gets, he’ll jump on a human and try to steal anything of theirs that might be golden. Usually, the victims push him off before he can take anything, but sometimes he gets away with a ring or necklace. His favorite hobby is sneaking into the city at and trying to steal things, which he usually fails at, being very small and having no arms.
Rumur can breathe fire, but his flame is not hot enough to burn anything. The only thing it’s useful for is warming up his dinner. Since Rumur is part tadpole and part chameleon, he can swim very well and is learning to change color at will.
